I’m Not Rare But I’m Special – Daily Shatzi: Monday Theme

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday 🙂

Let’s talk about Human Interaction. Do you find it easy to open up to people? Do you trust easily? Do you always feel happier when you have someone to talk to?

I’m sure everyone knows the famous quote of philosopher Sartre “L’enfer c’est les autres” meaning “Hell is other people”. Like most teenagers, I learn this quote in High School and of course, back then, I deeply empathized with it. At the rough age of seventeen, I even considered it to be my motto, the unbreakable truth, The Holy String of Words I lived on and the excuse for most of my rebellious and daredevil adolescent stunts.

Now, years later, I read this quote and I think “Hell is other people… sometimes. It depends, I guess…. It’s debatable. Meh.”

This is coming from an introvert. My reluctance to be too involved with people, too present in their lives, and worse, letting them be too involved in mine, to the point where I will inevitably feel suffocated, is something that is completely intrinsic to my personality. I’ve gotten better with this but a few years ago, it was bad. I know some people consider that being an introvert is “cool” and “edgy” and maybe it is, I don’t know.

But I can damn well tell you that it also can be a burden, a barrier keeping you from reaching your goals or finding happiness. It’s a struggle everyday to fight the urge to just… fade in the background, where it’s safe and no one can reach you. It’s a daily battle. I’m happy to say that I’m winning it for now.

It’s sounds so cliché, but some people are definitely worth letting in, some people are worth trusting with your true, wonderful, weird and socially awkward self. Take a chance, take a risk, and trust your gut. There are men and women out there who are as scared, closed-up, unsure and hopeful as you are. True friendship always grow from honesty, authenticity, and caring. If you are willing to give a go at those three things, then never, ever believe that you don’t have anything to share with people, or that you are not worth knowing.

You are exactly the type of person worth to be friend with, the type of person worth to keep.

Enjoy’s today’s Shatzi.

Song of the day

Birdy “Skinny Love”
(originally by Bon Iver)

Come on skinny love just last the year,
Pour a little salt we were never here,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my…
Staring at the sink of blood and crushed veneer.
Tell my love to wreck it all,
Cut out all the ropes and let me fall,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my…
Right in the moment this order’s tall.
And I told you to be patient,
And I told you to be fine,
And I told you to be balanced,
And I told you to be kind,
And in the morning I’ll be with you,
But it will be a different kind,
‘Cause I’ll be holding all the tickets,
And you’ll be owning all the fines.
Come on skinny love, what happened here?
Suckle on the hope in light brassieres,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my…
Sullen load is full, so slow on the split. And I told you to be patient,
And I told you to be fine,
And I told you to be balanced,
And I told you to be kind,
And now all your love is wasted,
Then who the hell was I?
‘Cause now I’m breaking at the bridges,
And at the end of all your lights.

Who will love you?
Who will fight?
And who will fall far behind?

Come on skinny love,
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my…
My my my, my my my, my-my-my my-my.

  1. Fantac- that picture was trippy! As always, your theme spoke to me. After several years of dealing with people on a daily basis, I am happily enjoying a hermit phase. I am healing and am being creative again which is intrinsic to my soul. You are correct in letting certain people into our inner circles. I am really glad I opened up to let my husband in. He is my best friend and the person I love with all my heart. Thank you for another lovely Shatzi!

    1. I just love this comment! The picture is a little spooky, isn’t it? It’s a recurrent trend for this artist, but I like it ^^
Don’t hesitate to see his other arts, I credit it below the pic. I’m glad you liked this article, it can be a little intimidating to share some personal and deep part of my story but I’m so glad i do it when I get a response like that! ^^ And I do hope one day, I’ll marry someone with whom I’ll be able to share all this, hihihi!
      Thanks for reading!
