It’s 2018, Say Goodbye to Your Bullies – Daily Shatzi: Tuesday Theme

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday! Welcome JGC Blog!

Happy New Year to all my readers, old and new. I hope 2018 will be what your dreams are made off.

I thought I would start the year with a Daily Shatzi motivating you to get rid of the toxic people in your life. Yes, you know exactly who they are and you know how much they are able of negatively affect you.

Yet, you let them influence your mind and hurt your feelings as well as disrespect you. Why? Because they might be very old friends or family members or even co-workers. You think it’s easier to let them walk all over you or politely ignore them if it makes your life a little less difficult.

But what about your self-confidence? What about your mental health?

Trust me, I know how hard it is to endure bullies on a daily basis whether it’s to a small or large scale.

Let’s say the bully is your boss: how exactly can you confront him about his behavior when it may very well wreck your work life or your career?

I get it. Sometimes, awkwardly laughing off the insults and pretending to be deaf while looking the other way might be the smartest solution. It is certainly feel safer.

But how much bulling and disrespect can you endure? Seriously, how much is too much? When do you draw the line?

Is it when you discretely take five minutes to isolate yourself in the ladies’s room of your office so that you can cry without anyone witnessing it?

Is it when you are bleeding because you’ve bitten your tongue too hard while trying to not snap back at one of the many rude comments sent your way?

Or is it when the day is over and you are home from work, crestfallen and worn-out, already dreading going back to your own personal hell?

At one point, you have to stand up for yourself. It doesn’t make you less intelligent or compassionate to point out to rude people that they are crossing the line and expose their bad behavior. Actually it might help them becoming better human beings.

Respecting yourself enough to defend your character against haters is not the same as inviting them to bash you more or letting them win because you so-called “played their games”.

Being brave enough to speak up when someone hurts you doesn’t make you a tool. Self-respect does not work that way. If you don’t defend yourself, nobody else will bother, if you don’t acknowledge your feelings or face your fears and insecurities, you will wither and shrink under them.

And then how will you ever be able to face the world? A better question yet: how will the world be able to even know you exist?

You know what the song says: “It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life”.

2018 can be the start of something beautiful and more importantly healthy.

Be brave, be bold and take the necessary steps to banish negative people from your life. If they are from work,  do not just avoid them, try confronting them about their toxic attitude. Who knows? You courage might help someone else and inspire them to do right thing.

And if anything, it will make feel better.

All my love,

🙂

Song of the day

Nina Simone “Feeling Good”

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Reeds driftin’ on by
You know how I feel
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good
I’m feeling good
Fish in the sea
You know how I feel
River running free
You know how I feel
Blossom on the tree
You know how I feel
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good
Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what I mean, don’t you know
Butterflies all havin’ fun, you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when the day is done, that’s what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me
For me
Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Oh freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life
It’s a new life
For me
And I’m feeling good
I’m feeling good
I’m feeling so good
I feel so good
