Hello Everyone and Welcome to JGC Blog.
Springs is here and with it a renewal of life but not everyone can put a positive spin on it
Springs is here and with it a renewal of life. It is often an opportunity for people to reflect on their inner growth and the personal improvement they aim to achieve during the year.
However not everyone can put a positive spin on it; as a matter of fact, at the dawn of Springs and the promise of sunnier days, a lot of people just feel depressed and anxious, hopeless and lost.
If you are one of those people, this article is for you.
First of all, feeling frustrated, anxious or depressed during springtime is nothing to ashamed of. It doesn’t matter that everyone around you is happy, what matter is that you are not. Acknowledging it is a sign of self-reflection and a first step in the right direction. If you are feeling this way, it means you want something to change, you want to improve yourself and your life.
Nobody wants to talk about those things, nobody wants to confront or fight inner demons. But we all have to. If we want to be happy and at peace, we have to. No one can do it for us.
I thought it would be good to share the 30 questions I take the time to ask myself every other month or even quarter so that I can evaluate where I am in life and where I want to be.
I’ve been doing this for a couple of years now and it was incredibly hard at the beginning; You wouldn’t believe how much. However, I’m grateful for this mental exercise and I hope that it will help anyone who is reading this post. FYI, The questions are not related to one another and you don’t need to ask yourself every single one them or even follow the same order displayed below.
Without delay, here are my 30 questions to test your self-awareness and take care of your mental health:
-
Am I happy?
-
Why am I not happy?
-
How do I feel?
-
Why is this hard?
-
Why am I avoiding this?
-
What do I need?
-
What do I want?
-
Am I being honest with myself?
-
Why do I lie?
-
What am I afraid of?
-
Can I do this?
-
Is it worth it?
-
Why not?
-
What’s holding me back?
-
What’s hurting me?
-
Why is this hurting me?
-
Is this good/helpful for me?
-
Do I need to take a break?
-
Do I need to let go?
-
Am I being too hard on myself?
-
Am I procrastinating?
-
Am I giving up?
-
Did I give it my best?
-
Do I really like this?

There it is. 30 questions I asked myself when I need to and about everything: my choices and my actions, the big and small events in my life and the ones that need careful consideration or just confuse me.
Some people may feel frightened by those questions or view them as a way to always second-guess themselves but let me reassure you, it’s not my experience.
Those questions don’t pop up in my mind all the time and certainly not for everything and anything under the sun.
Asking yourself those questions and answering them truthfully, without any shame or avoidance is a deliberate way to tackle on the emotional or mental struggles you may have. It’s a self-awareness tool, intimate and personal and it is simply meant to help you grow.
It did for me and I really hope it will be helpful to someone else.
Let me know if there are other questions you ask yourself that are not on this list. Everyone is different. Feel free to share what works for you.
Thank you for reading,
All my love.

That’s a good question! However when confronted to a specific situation or an obstacle, I always felt it’s good to ask yourself the small, genuine and uncomplicated questions before you tackle the existential ones; Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it! ^^
