Human After All – Daily Shatzi: Wednesday Theme

Hello Everyone and Happy Wednesday 🙂

Today I want to share with you a simple list.

It is certainly not an exhaustive list but I truly hope that it will give you a little peace, a little joy, and a little love to brighten the day ahead.

You know, food for the soul and all of that.

A while ago an eleven years old girl asked me some deep questions: How do I stay so positive? why do I put that much effort in trying to make other people happy? Why do I create things? Why do I like people? Why do I always try to be nice to them when they are not nice to me? Why should we try to be better? And why, oh why do I think humanity is beautiful when all the evidence points to the contrary?

This is what you get when you try to debate with a girl who just entered 7th grade. She is a though little lady, so very intelligent and so very willful. She will tell you that she’s not “just a girl” already painfully aware that her gender, her looks and her brain can and will probably be used a weapon against her ambition.

She’s already facing bullying and already collecting the best grades. She’s a child that I love to the moon and back and she’s shedding that sweet innocence of hers faster than she should.

I do not wish for her to loose her faith in people, in humanity, along with it. So I’ve written her a little list, one she can learn by heart, like a sweet poem or an catchy song.

I keep having faith in humanity and people because:

  • We have the universe inside of us
  • We know how to laugh, we know how to think and we know how to love
  • Just because some of us ignore those capacities does not mean all of us are bad
  • We suffer and yet we still shine.
  • We know how to capture starlight.
  • We have colors, we come in different shades and we are all so incredibly beautiful because of it. We are all masterpieces.
  • We help each other, we strive for each other and for ourselves.
  • We love life, we love God, we are grateful.
  • We all die and leave this planet eventually. But our love always remains.

To everyone who wants to keep faith in Humanity out there… This Shatzi is for you.

Song of the day

Krewella “Human”

Is anybody there?
Does anybody care
What I’m feeling?
I wanna disappear
So nobody can hear
Me when I’m screaming
Cause I could use a hand sometimes
Yeah, I could use a hand sometimesThey say pain is an illusion
This is just a bruise
And you are just confused
But I am only human
I could use a hand sometimes
I am only human [3x]The night is bitter cold
I wonder if you know
That I’m sleepless
Waiting like a ghost
When I need you the most
I go unnoticed

‘Cause I could use a hand sometimes
Yeah, I could use a hand sometimes

They say pain is an illusion
This is just a bruise
And you are just confused
But I am only human
I could use a hand sometimes
I am only human [2x]

The weight of the world is pulling me down
(Where are you now, where are you now?)
Every breath feels like I’m gonna drown
(Where are you now, where are you now?)
I’m the only one left alone on this Earth
Singing this song but can’t find the words

‘Cause I could use a hand sometimes
Yeah, I could use a hand sometimes

They say pain is an illusion
This is just a bruise
And you are just confused
But I am only human

I could use a hand sometimes
I am only human
